A letter to the parent struggling through the newborn days

A letter to the parent struggling through the newborn days

You may be in the midst of these precious, yet challenging, newborn days. I know that this journey may feel overwhelming, exhausting, and filled with doubts, but please remember that you are not alone.

I want to tell you that you are doing an incredible job. You may not feel like it, but you are.

The love, care, and dedication you pour into your little one's life already is so remarkable. Your efforts may go unnoticed at times, but please know that every little thing you do makes a difference.

The early days with a newborn can be a whirlwind of emotions. From sleepless nights to endless feedings, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and question your abilities. But remember, you were chosen to be apart of this child’s life.

Trust in yourself and believe in your instincts. You know your baby better than anyone else.

I want to stress that it is important to acknowledge that it's okay to ask for help.  Please reach out to your support system, whether it's your partner, family, or friends. Let them lend a helping hand and provide you with the rest you need, and deserve

During these early days, it's easy to compare yourself to others and fall into the trap of unrealistic expectations. Please remember that every parent and every baby is unique. What works for someone else may not work for you, and that's more than okay! Find your own rhythm and routine that works best for you and your baby. Trust that you are doing what is right for your family.

In those moments of exhaustion and doubt, take a deep breath and remind yourself that this is just a season. Your baby is growing and changing every day, and so are you. Embrace the journey and cherish the small moments of joy and connection. The sweet smell of your baby's skin, the tiny fingers wrapping around yours, and the first smiles will make it all worthwhile.

Please be gentle with yourself. This road is filled with ups and downs. Embrace the imperfections and the messiness of it all. Give yourself permission to make mistakes and learn along the way. Remember, you are learning and growing, just like your little one

You are remarkable, and your love for your baby shines through in every action you take. Trust in yourself, have faith in your abilities, and remember that you are enough. These newborn days may be challenging, but they are also filled with immense love and joy!

Sending you all of the love and strength

xx
